Trans Logroño, searching for the difference

Trans Logroño, searching for the difference
For this rare breed in the world of haulage, the future goes hand-in-hand with specialisation, with its capacity to stand out and offer something extra in a highly competitive sector where transport operations are concentrated in a few hands. Santiago Gutiérrez has lived and breathed transport all his life. His father, Julio, laid the foundations of Translogroño in the mid 80s, first with flatbeds, then with tankers and later with large-volume transport. Today, Santiago manages the family business which specialises in loading and transporting general palletised goods and wine products in tanks at the regional level.

Today, we’re travelling with an amazing motorhome

Today, we’re travelling with an amazing motorhome
Our special services department received a curious request last week. We were asked to transport an amazing motorhome from a customer’s premises in the region of La Rioja to the city of Mijas (Málaga), for the "Costa del Sol Equestrian Tour", a horse-riding championship that brings together jockeys from Europe’s leading clubs.

Rioja Vehicles, a manufacturer of motorhomes and special vehicles, has a close relationship with MotoGP and Formula 1 championships and required a global service which would include not only transport but also support during the opening and set-up of the mobile home, which covers more than 50 square metres.

Our experience in the transfer and set-up of medical trailers sets us apart, and guarantees suitable handling of special vehicles of this type.

Cantabria supports energy sustainability in transport through the ECO Stars project

Cantabria supports energy sustainability in transport through the ECO Stars project
ECO STARS Europe is a three-year project financed by the Intelligent Energy Europe (IEE) programme which is part of the strategic framework 'Energy Efficient Transport', STEER (Sustainable Transport and Energy Efficient Resources.)

By the end of 2012, 36 companies, Trans Logroño among them, and more than 1,500 certified vehicles, had gained an average rating above 3 stars (of a maximum of 5), thus proving the industry’s commitment to energy efficiency.

The ECOSTARS project is designed to increase energy efficiency in goods shipments and passenger transport, while also granting companies that apply sustainable practices in their operations and management systems, the publicity and recognition they deserve. Other outcomes include promoting the use of clean-energy vehicles, with lower emissions, supporting the development of efficient driving and best practice programmes within the transport sector in order to achieve fuel savings, and promoting auditing and certification procedures amongst goods and passenger transporters, with a European stamp.

I DON’T KNOW IF I’M THE BEST LORRY DRIVER IN EUROPE, BUT I AM THE MOST ECONOMICAL

I DON’T KNOW IF I’M THE BEST LORRY DRIVER IN EUROPE, BUT I AM THE MOST ECONOMICAL
Accepting the obvious differences, José Miguel Velilla, a Trans Logroño lorry driver, is to the world of lorries, what La Roja (Spain’s national football team) is to the world of football: the best in Europe.

A few weeks ago, in Seville, he proved that, when it comes to driving a heavy duty vehicle, he has no rival. Representing Trans Logroño, the company where he’s been working for the past 25 years, he won the Optifuel Challenge organised by Renault...
